Team Update – Weaver & Cuddington Ward

Partnership Working

This week I met with our Neighbourhood Housing Officer at my surgery base to discuss recent community issues and any concerns raised by residents.

Working together helps us support individuals and families more effectively, resolve problems early, and keep our community safe, connected and supported.

If you have any concerns you’d like to raise, please feel free to get in touch.

You Said, We Did – Speeding Concerns: Wallerscote Road

Following feedback from Resident Voice surveys highlighting ongoing speeding concerns on Wallerscote Road, I carried out a speed enforcement session in the 30 mph zone.

The highest recorded speed: 35mph in the 30mph zone.

Video evidence of all vehicles exceeding the limit will be submitted to the Central Ticket Office for further progression.

Thank you to all residents who continue to report concerns — your information genuinely helps keep our roads safer

Mini Police – Parking Session at Weaverham Primary Academy

This week my amazing Mini Police Officers took part in both theory and practical sessions all about parking.

Theory Session

The Mini Police designed their own parking tickets while learning what good and poor parking looks like, and why responsible parking keeps everyone safer.

Practical Session

We then went on a parking patrol, where the children issued their tickets as part of a real‑life activity. They confidently identified examples of good and poor parking.

A HUGE well done to all my Mini Police!

You represented your school brilliantly, showed excellent manners, and displayed fantastic confidence when engaging with adult drivers.

You Said, We Did – Further Speed Enforcement & School Parking

Speed enforcement was also carried out in the 40mph zone of Wallerscote Road, with the highest recorded speed being 46mph

All offences have been submitted to the Central Ticket Office (CTO) for progression

School Parking – Sandiway Primary

Parking was monitored around the school this afternoon. For the safety of all children:

  • Please park only in allocated bays
  • If bays are full, please consider using the Cuddington & Sandiway Village Hall car park and walking the short distance
  •

Your cooperation helps keep everyone safe during pick‑up times.

Thank you

Weaverham Primary Academy – Road Safety Session

This week I joined the Mini Police for their 2nd road safety session of the week.

The children used the speed device to monitor oncoming traffic and recorded their findings using tally charts.

For any drivers found exceeding the speed limit, the Mini Police will now be writing letters encouraging safer driving across our community.

I’ll return next week to run a maths session using all the speed data gathered.

Safer Internet Day – Planning Visit

This afternoon I visited Danielle Ashley Activities to plan an upcoming Safer Internet Day session next month.

We’re looking forward to delivering a friendly and engaging session all about:

  • Staying safe online
  • Recognising risks
  • Using phones, apps, and the internet confidently and responsibly
  •

A big thank you for the warm welcome — I can’t wait to return!
