A Neighbourhood Plan is a community-led plan based on land use. It is an official document that must be taken into account in planning decisions. It gives you a say on where new houses, shops, businesses and community facilities should be built and what they should look like. Neighbourhood Plans are extremely important to make sure that you are able to influence development.

The Government in its National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) encourages local communities to create their own Community development plans. Our Borough Council (Cheshire West & Chester) is currently producing a Local Plan which sets out the guidelines for the development of local communities over the next 15 years. Parish / Village Plans aim to give local communities greater involvement in deciding what they want to see happening in their Village over the short to medium term.
The aims of our Village Plan have been to:
The Village Plan was based on a survey of the community carried out by local volunteers. The aim of the survey was to collect the views and opinions of the people who live and work in our community and from this information find out how the community sees itself developing over the next few years. An action plan has been developed based on the community’s views and their priorities and the current phase of implementing that plan is underway.
The Cuddington, Delamere Park and Sandiway Village Plan was published in July 2015 after a considerable process of local consultation and discussion - it is available here.
Groups of local volunteers are focusing efforts in three main areas of implementation:
Steering Committee chairman:
John Faulkner (former Parish Councillor)
