Make your Opinion Count in Local Planning Decisions
Cuddington Parish Council launched a Neighbourhood Plan project in October 2015 and since that time the Steering Group has consulted with the community to seek their views on planning and land use. Based on work carried out for a Village Plan, a Housing Needs Survey and a Village Character Assessment, policies have been drafted and tested informally with the community, and more recently formally, in a Pre-Submission Draft Neighbourhood Plan, with the community, statutory and public organisations. Following this, Cheshire West and Chester Council will take the Plan through full consultation and appoint an external examiner. This will eventually lead to a referendum at which residents will have the opportunity to vote to accept the Neighbourhood Plan.
The Steering Group organised a series of Roadshows in April and October 2016 and sent out a document to every home in November 2016 to test draft policy ideas. This document described a Vision to the year 2030 for Cuddington Parish, and outlined key objectives and draft emerging policies which, when fully developed, would be used to influence future planning decisions.
Consultation on a Pre-Submission version of the Draft Neighbourhood Plan took place in June and July 2017.
Where Neighbourhood plans have been completed elsewhere they provide a very powerful support to Parish and Borough Councils when planning decisions are being made. A very big thank-you to all our Residents who have taken part in the consultation for the Neighbourhood Plan.
